Pembroke Engineering are a highly skilled and experienced precision engineering company based in a purpose-built factory in Basildon, Essex.
They specialise in the manufacture of high precision complex components for the aerospace, medical and pharmaceutical industries.
Over recent years the business has been suffering with coolant issues. The coolant in the Cylindrical Grinding cell was continuously unusable after a six to eight week period.
They tried all the common fixes including system cleaners, jet washing and every conseivable way of bettering the coolant life.
After a long period of time without success they turned to Turner Tools for a solution.
Along with Oemeta Coolants, Turner Tools assessed the application and recommended AL900 due to the fact they were grinding differing materials including exotic alloys. This is mainly as a result of the nature of the complex aerospace and medical work that Pembroke specialise in.
“We had recently taken on Oemeta as a premium Engineering lubricants partner and were getting some very good results from the product range” stated Jason Pither of Turner Tools Ltd.
“I spoke to Allan Brodie (Director) about our success and he was naturally sceptical but willing to under go a trial of Oemeta’s Boron free AL900..
Since then the original trial coolant is still operational and Allan has rolled out the Al900 across his entire workshop with great results” added Mr Pither.
Allan commented to me that some of his customers have asked how he is achieving such good finishes on his workpieces. Although he has a very good quality of engineering abilities in his work force, Allan did admit that he accredited some of the success to the new coolant.
