The new Sandvik CoroCut QD parting off line is now available from Turner Tools. The leading cutting tool distributor is delighted to offer this new line that has been developed for parting off large diameter bars and optimizing cuts that require longer tool overhang. With a high precision coolant system , the CoroCut QD offers better machining control and improved tool life – making it the ideal choice for machining deep grooves. From a technical perspective, the Sandvik CoroCut QD has an over and under coolant supply available for all tools that is delivered via easy coolant connection plug and play adaptors. In addition, the insert geometries have also been developed to optimise coolant access. The application range of the new parting off line makes it suited to deep groove and long overhang situations. It is the tool of choice for optimising bar fed machines and sliding head machines with bars in the diameter range of 38mm (1.5 inch) and larger and for sliding head machines with bar diameters above 32mm. The CoroCut QD from Turner Tools has a working diameter range from 38 to 160mm diameter with cutting depths from 15 to 80mm. In addition, a grooving width of 1 to 8mm is available. The inserts in the new line deliver high edge-line security with a variety of chip breaking geometries and wiper inserts for improved surface quality at high feeds. This is supported by a strong toolholding material that has an extremely high fatigue resistance. To make the new line user friendly, Sandvik has developed a system whereby no torque wrench is needed and the correct clamping force is ensured with a quick-release key. Additionally, a rail insert seat ensures stable, precise insert positioning.
